Happy New Year!

At the end of every year I see people saying something like "Good riddance, Year X, you sucked, let's hope Year Y brings something better." I've got good reason to say something like that as well - this year brought something pretty big and awful with it. But it also brought along unprecendented opportunities - for me to do things with my career, to get more involved than ever in the Python community, to teach, to reconnect with old friends and strengthen my bonds with them, and to make new ones that have brought so much joy into my life. A lot of that, in fact, would not have happened without that Big Awful. So 2012 has turned out to be a pretty good year for me, and I hope this upward trend continues into 2013.
